In this gallery you will find a variety of photographs depicting scenes primarily in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. These were all shot outdoors using Nikon digital cameras. Most of these photos are landscapes at medium and large scale. I particularly like to photograph along the Oregon coast and in Oregon's forests. I am also intrigued by covered bridges, old barns and other "vintage" scenes. It is challenging to capture these scenes in recognizable but unique ways.

Oregon Covered Bridges        slide show (42)
Oregon is blessed with over 50 covered bridges. Originally covered to provide protection to the wooden spans in our rainy climate, these bridges are a colorful reminder of days gone by and a fun source for outdoor photography. The challenge is to avoid repetitive representation and to find unique and interesting ways to show the bridges. Here is a collection of 26 of the bridges, with a mixture of color and black and white photos. My intent is to add more bridges over time. The captions include the bridge's name, date it was built and the county within which the bridge is located.
